A Brief History
We are newline Creations, a well-established Web development company from Erie, PA, in the United States. Incorporated in 2000, we were just short of the original .COM boom at the end of the 20th Century. But we have survived the downturn the .COM bust caused within the Web development business and largely because of that we have emerged stronger and more resilient.
Beyond Websites
Although our roots are in developing websites for small business customers and we value the experience we obtain from those projects daily, we've decided to reach out with our services to the web development community. Our first attempt was the WebAssemblyLine™ Website development platform, which is a fully hosted service that allows a web development company to build and manage their customer's websites in a revolutionary way.
E-commerce is BIG
The next product we decided to offer to web developers is the Commerce on Rails online storefront platform. Most small businesses are interested in selling or showcasing their products and services online. It is obvious that web developers need a simple, but flexible and extensible platform to deploy on their customer's websites. We tried several commercial e-commerce products, both hosted and not. Our experience was mediocre, the primary problems being difficulty in extending software with new features and poor support from the vendors. Commerce on Rails was developed to address those problems.
